Wow your article provoked a lot of debate! Don't people get their knickers in a twist?

I bet if they were to have an 'Elton John' week on the show he'd change his, er, tune.

Thanks Karen. Yes, the armchair critics of the bien-pensant soft left don't exactly take Simon Cowell to heart. Neither, to be fair, do I. But Elton John criticising because the songs aren't very good doesn't come right from someone who hasn't written a good song for twenty years.
